The Estate
Michel Darriet's daughter, from a line of eight generations of passionate winemakers, took over the reins of the estate in 2019 with a bold vision: to offer authentic viticulture where tradition and modernity come together in harmony, freeing itself from the established conventions of Bordeaux.
“Like a Phoenix, the Domaine des Perchés rises from its ashes…”

More than 200 years of family tradition
Located on the heights of Cadillac, the Domaine des Perchés is much more than a simple vineyard: it embodies above all the heritage of a family line of passionate winegrowers. Founded more than two centuries ago, in 1822, this estate has spanned eight generations, with the same fervor for respecting the terroir and peasant tradition. The art of winemaking was thus passed down from father to son until 2001, leaving the vineyard dormant for almost 20 years. Ready to be reborn, at the right time... "Kaïros" the Greeks say.
This time came in 2019, when Carine decided to breathe new life into the family legacy. Daughter of Michel Darriet, she took over from her father, with a fierce desire to reconcile tradition and modernity. Like a Phoenix, the estate "is reborn from its vines", embracing a new philosophy, where nature and culture blend harmoniously. Far from established conventions, Carine advocates a free style. A passionate winemaker, she strives to extract the best, working in particular with forgotten or atypical grape varieties for the region, such as Syrah or Mancin Noir, which require special attention.
Domaine des Perchés was born from this renaissance; it is a place where unique wines are created, full of emotion, which reflect all the richness of the terroir, in a sustainable viticulture approach. Already following in his footsteps, his son Marius intends to perpetuate this new vision of an authentic vineyard, more alive than ever!
We go back in time and find our sources of inspiration in the origins of wine

A Bold Renaissance
In the wine-growing landscape of the Cadillac heights, Domaine des Perchés stands out with a bold desire: to reinvent heritage while remaining faithful to its roots. Driven by a modern vision and uncompromising passion, the Domaine has crossed the ages to be reborn, like a Phoenix, in all its splendor.
This renaissance is the result of a unique determination: to combine ancestral winemaking techniques with contemporary innovations, making each vintage a true work of art. Every decision – from the choice of grape varieties to the maturation techniques – is guided by respect for the terroir and the ambition to create wines that transcend time.
A bold renaissance
For over 200 years, Domaine des Perchés has been the guardian of know-how passed down from generation to generation. The vines, worked with care, tell the story of families of passionate winegrowers, whose love of the land and grape varieties remains unchanging.
Today, this tradition continues, not as a relic of the past, but as a solid foundation for the future. From environmentally friendly practices to manual harvests, each step is carried out with the same rigor and respect as in the past. The walls of the recently renovated winery still resonate with the echoes of past generations, reminding us that wine is not just a product, but a living heritage.

Open Air Museum...

When wine becomes a work of art…
The Domaine des Perchés is also a place of dialogue between art and wine.
A true open-air museum, the Domaine des Perchés exhibits several works of art on its grounds. The Tree of Life, a metaphorical sculpture created by the artist Manuel Alvarez, recalls the unbreakable link between man and nature, the ephemeral and the eternal.
Not far away, its twin, the Tree of Knowledge, embodies the wisdom passed down from generation to generation, reminding us that each gesture, each harvest, is part of a thousand-year-old choreography. A third sculpture, The Sun Meets the Moon, completes this artistic trinity. Symbols of the solar and lunar cycles, this work illustrates the importance of time in the development of a great wine and the alchemical philosophy of the property. Together, these three works shape the emblem of the Domaine des Perchés as well as its new graphic identity.
Here, at Domaine des Perchés, art and wine converse, not in silence, but in a poetic scenography.

Wine labels are also true contemporary works. Our two iconic vintages, Perchés Blanc and Perchés Rouge, are adorned with a label inspired by the arcana of the ancient Tarot of Marseille, illustrating the singularity of each vintage, with symbols evoking the seasons, the cosmos, the vintage and the harvests, testifying to the poetic character and singularity of these wines.
And, because each vintage is different, a new label is created each year, telling, in an allegorical way, the work of the vine and the singularity of each harvest. Each vintage thus becomes a unique piece to collect…
Domaine des Perchés also signs two micro-cuvées of less than 500 bottles each. Like master paintings, their labels tell a whole story, in a poetic scenography. For Génération Perchés Sucrés (GPS), our emblematic sweet wine, it is the French artist Jean Vallon who created this "canvas" indicating the GPS coordinates of the estate. As for Rù, our maceration wine, its label offers a free interpretation of the spirit of sharing that reigns supreme on the estate.
